Hugues Lagrange was born in 1951. He is interested in the sociology of customs and socialization processes. He dedicated researches to the sexual behavior of the young people in the context of the epidemic HIV, to the juvenile crime and to drug abuse. His recent researches concerned the socialization of the teenagers in poor areas in particular stemming from African migrations. He participated to the research team Trajectories and Origins on migrants and descendants of migrants (under the aegis of the National Statistical Institute in France National demographical Institute). He is undertaking a comparative research on the consequences of globalization and modernization on personal identity and mores of people newly arriving in cities in India.
