Maurice Vaïsse was tenured professor of history and is now Professor Emeritus at Sciences Po. During his distinguished academic career, he was, among others, chair of the Study Group on the History of Nuclear Weaponry (1986-1996), director of the History of Defense Studies Center (1995-2001), and chair of the Scientific Council of the Charles de Gaulle Foundation (1995-2001). A specialist of the history of international relations, he is associate researcher at the History Center of Sciences Po and research fellow at CERI. Since 1992, he has been the editor-in-chief of the journal Documents diplomatiques français published under the auspices of the French ministry of Foreign affairs. He is also director of the Revue d'histoire diplomatique and a member of editorial boards of the journals Relations internationales, Politique étrangère, Défense nationale, Cold War History Review, etc.
